For the 2003 MLK Holiday Breakfast at Holy Family Catholic Church, Rev. Foy led those gathered in singing, "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Written by James Weldon Johnson, this song tells of the struggle of African-Americans in the United States to find freedom and dignity while keeping the faith in the promise of the future and the promise of God. Rev. Foy lived his life firmly in the midst of this tradition, singing praises to the Lord and working for justice for all people here on this earth.
