The following are reflections which Rev. Foy shared via e-mail with members of his congregation and the broader community. They express a glimmer of his calling, which he described to the Duluth News Tribune as:

"To proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ; to provide spiritual guidance to men, women and children and educational and economic-development opportunities for members of our society who've been locked out and disenfranchised."

"Led By The Spirit"

The true children of God are those who let God's Spirit lead them.(Romans 8:14)

The Holy Spirit is the presence of God in our lives, carrying on the work of Jesus. The Holy Spirit helps us in three directions -- inwardly (by granting us the fruit of the Spirit, Galations 5:22-24), upwardly (by praying for us. Romans 8:26), and outwardly (by pouring God's love into our hearts. Romans 5:5)

"Boldness Before the Throne"

Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God's throne where there is grace.

Jesus tells us..." When you pray, pray like this. 'Our Father who is in heaven. hallowed be thy name, 'Thy kingdom come.'"

When you say, "The kingdom come," you are inviting the Messiah himself to walk into your world. "Come, my King! Take your throne in our land. Be present in my heart. Be present in my office, come into my marriage. Be Lord of my family, my fears, and my doubts." This is no feeble request; it's a bold appeal for God to occupy every corner of your life.

And who are you to ask such a thing? Who are you to ask God to take control of your world? You are his child, for heaven's sake? And so you ask boldly.

Live a Holy Life

You should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

You want to make a difference in your world? Live a holy life:
1. Be faithful to your spouse.
2. Be the neighbor who acts neighborly.
3. Be the one at the office or in the classroom, who refuses to cheat.
4. Be the employee who does the work and doesn't complain
5. Pay your bills.
6. Do your part and enjoy life.
7. Don't speak one message and live another.
8. Enjoy the beauty of living in Duluth/Superior
9. People are watching the way we act more than they are listening to what we say.
10. Be a doer of God's Word.

Many believer’s feel as long as they have not broken any of the 10 commandments then they are truly living a SIN free life. But there are other sins that believer’s can commit and some of those are "The Sins of the MIND".

The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he”. In this teaching Bishop Chaney reveals 8 Sins that are committed by the mind. Things as little as worrying about something are literally a form of unbelief. The Bible is clear when it says "without faith it is impossible to please God" (Heb 11:6). To worry about something that is under God's control is to doubt that God has or is working it out.

This teaching is excellent for those who want to grow in God and guard themselves from "The SINS of the MIND".

Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them. Psalm 105:38 (NIV)

Don't be disturbed when your enemy rejoices at your departure. It is the anointing they are really afraid of.

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalm 84:2 (NIV)

Just how bad do you want the Lord?

A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11 (NIV)

One of the most priceless gifts is a timely word. Speak well.

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

He put up with you. Now you put up with others.

But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.1 Corinthians 11:31 (NIV)

Best to look at yourself from the inside out than to have others look at youfrom the outside in.

The most honest eyes you will look into are the ones you see in the mirror everyday. No matter what you tell yourself, those eyes don't lie.

Though your final judgment comes from the Lord, it is best to get a headstart on the process.
