From Copeland Community Center

Pastor Foy always had time for people, all people, and especially young people. His guidance in the love for Jesus Christ and the ways he shared that love will be sadly missed. We can be thankful he was a part of our lives, gospel, and community.

He was always inclusive for everyone to join in the wonderful things happening in our community that helped us place our best foot forward towards peace and harmony. He challenged people to work towards the goodness in all of us.

He touched our lives, our youth, and our neighborhood. May he be placed in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ to one day greet us again.

In Loving Memory of Pastor Foy...

I just want to say thank you so much for everything you have done for me. I thank GOD for putting you in my life. You was always someone everyone can count on wihtout you being hear there is a part of Duluth missing and you're going to be missed very much. There will never be another Pastor Foy. I remember when I used to praise dance and you go really mad when you missed it. I mean there's so many memories of you, Pastor Foy. You were a God given gift. R.I.P.

Love, Raina

Pastor Foy was and still is a great person! He will always be loved! Duluth is not Duluth without Pastor Foy. Things will neva be the same. I love you Pastor Foy!

I think that Pastor Foy was a really nice person. He never hurt nobody. When you need something he was always there for you. I hope he be blessed wherever he at. He will always be loved and nobody will ever forget him. Even though I didn't know him, I hope he still is blessed. There will never be a pastor like you.

R.I.P. Love, Bianca

Even though I don't know Pastor Foy I myself know what everyone is going through. I have lost one that I love. In the past I have went through the same feeling even though I don't know this man I have all the same feeling...thinking "why, what did he do to deserve this?" This man lived his life to serve God and to serve all others in theri needs to find who really are--to see all these people crying over his death--I know that he was loved and respected. This man's death has brought so much emotion to such a large group of people. To lose someone you love is so hard but to love someone is even harder.

Love, Bobbi

I can't express the words on how bad Pastor Foy will be missed. He was there for me, my family, and my community. He was the one always trying his hardest to keep the community safe. He has been there through funerals and just family get-togethers. I think I speak for everyone when I say that he was like a father to us and he will be deeply missed.

Even though I didn't really know Pastor Foy. I have only met him a couple of times. I know Pastor Foy was full of life. He was the only one who was making a change in our community, and he will always be remembered for that. he didnt deserve this, so I ask God why? why did somenone so caring, sweet and nice have to die this day?

He was too young to die. He needs to be back in Duluth living with his wife and 3 kids, counting his baby boy. Well I think I can speak for every body when I say Pastor Foy will be missed. My blessings go to him wife, and kids!!

Pastor Foy was a man of many strengths. Each sermon was filled with his love expressing his feeling to the congregation. His love is with us all. I remember the time that we were going through some troubles and he helped and prayed for us. You gave a whole new meaning to life.

R.I.P. In our hearts forever! Kendra

I came to know Pastor Foy mostly through my students at Woodland School. Those who have been involved in youth programs at St. Mark's hold him in highest regard. At times, Pastor Foy encouraged me to phone him regarding the behavior of specific students, and the effect those phone calls made was distinct. I was fortunate enough to have him as a guest in my classroom on four separate occasions, and he was always able to accomplish things I could not.

I will remember him as a man who understood well the challenges of the families and students in our community with whom he worked. He fought for them and for their equal opportunities, but also always challenged them to do more, to achieve more, and to strive for success. His message was powerful, his handshake was firm, and his presence was inspiring. Still, there was always a twinkle in his eye--and seeing him in front of a piano was true joy. So much talent, so much passion. He will be deeply, deeply missed.
