Martin Luther King Interfaith Event

MLK celebrations

This year, the committee decided not to hold an Ecumenical Service as we have done in past year's. The decision grew in part as response to the other events planned, including the following.

Many Acts of Goodness They Had Shown Me:
Defending and Defining Indians, 1670-1989

Reader's Theater by Carl Gawboy

Temple Israel - 1602 E. Second St - Duluth

This reader's theater presents historical statements about Indian people in the land that has become the United States. We are pleased to present this event understanding that Dr. King's vision recognized the many contradiction of America's promise of freedom and justice and the reality experienced by many people living here.

An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. - Dr. King
